Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met senior security officials to finalise a new strategy for the nearly two-year war in the Gaza Strip, his office said on Tuesday, with media reporting he favoured a complete military takeover of the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territory.

Hundreds of retired senior Israeli security and military officials have written to President Trump urging him to intervene to end the war in Gaza. The main hostage support group in Israel has accused Benjamin Netanyahu of leading Israel and the remaining captives being held by Hamas to doom.
