Ahead of this weekend’s winter storm, leaders in Madison County say they’re doing everything they can to keep roads clear to avoid a repeat of 2024's ice storm.

Alabama students are only just beginning to return to class after the winter holiday and now school systems are having to decide whether to cancel due to the threat of winter storms. Forecasters issued winter storm watches for north and part of central Alabama that will go into effect at midnight on Friday.
