A missing 5-foot water monitor lizard, which is illegal to possess in Massachusetts without proper authorization, was last spotted in Worcester County.

A large water monitor lizard that went missing from Webster has been spotted in Thompson, Connecticut, according to a social media post from that town. The post, which referred to the lizard as "Goose," said it had been spotted in the area of Little Pond, which is not far from the Massachusetts line.
