Starting pitcher Nolan McLean tossed 5.1 scoreless innings and recorded eight strikeouts while only allowing two hits and four walks in his MLB debut.

Nolan McLean pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings to earn a victory in his major league debut as the New York Mets topped the visiting Seattle Mariners 3-1 on Saturday.

McLean is the seventh Mets pitcher to throw at least five scoreless innings in his big league debut and the first since Zack Wheeler on June 18, 2013.
