Brendan Greene, the modder-turned-millionaire who designed battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds, wants to make his next game a "metaverse".

The PUBG creator is aware that this is no small endeavor, and set a tentative 2040 target to account for the challenges that lie ahead. The term ' metaverse ' has been tainted by Facebook-turned-Meta's mediocre endeavor that cost its parent company $46 billion between 2021 and 2024, according to NASDAQ.
