An Indigenous senator has intensified her criticism of King Charles III, again accusing the British monarch of complicity in the “genocide” against Australia’s First Peoples and declaring she will not be “shut down.

After heckling King Charles on Monday, Indigenous Australian Senator Lidia Thorpe stoked another controversy after a beheaded cartoon featuring the monarch was posted on her social media and later deleted.

King Charles, visiting the former British colony where he retains the ceremonial title of head of state, was shouted at by an Indigenous Australian senator.
