Police have been attacked with fireworks, bottles and bricks as violence erupted for a third night in Northern Ireland. The worst of the disorder was in Ballymena, but unrest also spread to other towns on Wednesday evening.

The Larne Leisure Centre was targeted on the third night of unrest in Northern Ireland, with one MLA warning: "Someone is going to get killed."

A leisure centre being used to provide emergency shelter has been attacked and petrol bombs hurled during a third night of violence. There were incidents reported in several towns on Wednesday including Larne, Ballymena, Coleraine. In Larne, there was an attack on the town’s leisure centre with images online showing parts of the facility on fire.
