Speculation is growing about Justin Trudeau’s exit from politics after the Canadian Prime Minister announced he won’t seek re-election.

When Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was elected in 2015, he promised sunny ways and "a real change." Over the last nine years, there's no doubt his government has focused on fighting climate change, advancing Indigenous reconciliation and lifting some Canadians out of poverty.

Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau argued on MSNBC Sunday that social media and the political right are fueling backlash globally against incumbents.

Trudeau also suggested that "progressives" need to remain focused on both the cost of living and the economy going forward.
