On 23 April, as Interior Minister Mazin al-Faraya publicly confirmed the Brotherhood’s ban and warned media outlets against publishing their statements or interviewing members, King Abdullah departed for an unannounced visit to Saudi Arabia to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The move could shutter the country’s largest opposition party, the Islamic Action Front, which is the Brotherhood’s political arm in Jordan.
