Trump DOJ lawyers slapped New York with a lawsuit Thursday, claiming it was assisting "illegal aliens' evasion of federal law enforcement" and "prohibiting civil arrests" at or near courthouses.

WASHINGTON — Gov. Kathy Hochul, testifying Thursday before a congressional panel investigating sanctuary immigration policies, insisted that New York law enforcement officers cooperate with federal immigration agents despite a patchwork of laws and policies aimed at limiting that.

Some of the demonstrations were organized by local residents after being surprised by sudden immigration raids; others are part of planned efforts by organizations like the Service Employees International Union, the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the 50501 Movement, a progressive political group.

NEWARK, N.J. (TNND) — Four detainees from a privately run immigration detention facility in Newark remained unaccounted for on Friday after an uprising broke out over poor conditions, according to authorities.
