Nintendo has announced that it's ending the Gold Points discount system as it goes into the Switch 2 generation.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally coming out from the shadows, and while we don’t know the price of the console or its games yet, Nintendo has announced that “Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games,” according to a page on its website confirming titles eligible for the Game Voucher program.

Customers can continue earning Gold Points until March 24. Since these points are valid for 12 months from the date of being earned, they can be “used to get a discount on Nintendo eShop purchases until they expire, even after the distribution of Gold Points has ended,” Nintendo said.
