The Minnesota Vikings received a mixed grade after selecting an offensive guard in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Vikings used the No. 24 overall pick on Jackson, an All-American lineman who has played both guard and tackle. Despite plenty of buzz that they were considering trading down, the Vikings stayed put on Thursday night and selected Ohio State offensive lineman Donovan Jackson with the 24th overall pick.

Donovan Jackson, who was the nation’s top-rated guard in the 2021 recruiting class, is the first opening-round guard drafted by the Vikings in nearly 40 years.
