Two people were rescued after a small plane crashed into Long Island Sound off the coast of Connecticut, the U.S. Coast Guard says.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two occupants from a plane that crashed into the Long Island Sound southeast of the Thimble Islands near Branford. The “two people were in stable condition and were taken to Stony Creek Pier for EMS support,” according to a post by the U.S. Coast Guard on X.
