A Maryland family is speaking out after they were fined by their homeowner's association for the Christmas light display at their home.

A family in Germantown, Maryland, says their home’s Christmas display is meant to spread joy. Instead, it’s landed them in trouble with their homeowners association — with fines piling up at $50 a day.

The family, who puts up a grand display every year, says they did “tone it down — by a lot” this holiday season.
