The final round of the Genesis Scottish Open is set to begin on Sunday, with Rory McIlroy and Chris Gotterup holding a two-stroke lead over the field.
American Chris Gotterup charges to the top of the leaderboard by equalling the course record with a blistering 61 on day two of the Scottish Open.
Paired with European captain Luke Donald in the opening two rounds on Scotland’s Golf Coast, the Cornishmen handled his audition superbly, following an opening 67 with a 64 to have Gotterup in his sights heading into the weekend in the $9 million Rolex Series event.
Although an unsuspecting pro is still searching for his first top-10 finish of the year, that didn't stop him from making a big splash at the Scottish Open.
The Masters champion's five-under-par round - which included six birdies - and minus-seven total means he is four adrift of Chris Gotterup.
