Hall of Fame Chicago Cubs slugger and second baseman Ryne Sandberg has died, following a battle with prostate cancer.

Ryne Sandberg, a Hall of Fame second baseman who became one of MLB’s best all-around players while starring for the Cubs, has died.

Both a skilled fielder and a fearsome power hitter, he entered the national sports spotlight with two memorable home runs in a nationally televised 1984 game.
