The top-ranked golfer cruised to another dominant outing to claim the British Open. Scheffler, who entered the day with a massive four-shot lead, pushed it to seven at one point en route to his four-shot victory at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. Nobody even came close to catching him.

The Northern Ireland native picked up a ball from the thick rough, held it out in front of him and burst out laughing. While hitting a shot, he unearthed another ball.
So, this was weird: Rory McIlroy, playing his second shot from the rough on the 11th at Royal Portrush in Round 3 of the British Open, somehow managed to unearth another ball in mid-swing. The second ball was apparently embedded in the ground a few inches ahead of McIlroy's ball, and popped into the air as McIlroy's shot flew greenward.

The biggest threat to a delay at The Open is lightning and heavy wind, and there aren't too many threats of that in the forecast. AccuWeather calls for an 80% chance of rain throughout the third round, mostly in the afternoon and evening. The winds shouldn't be too bad either, at least as far as British Opens go.

The British Open at Royal Portrush has had its first hole-in-one. English golfer John Parry hit an 8-iron at the 192-yard No. 13 that landed at the front of the green, took a couple of bounces and hopped straight into the cup.
