The Bengals are known for their patience. Owner and team president Mike Brown isn't going to fire Tobin in the middle of the season. If he did, it would be the shock of the century. The Bengals know they need to play better, but fans shouldn't expect a major change in the middle of the year.

The Dallas Cowboys reportedly considered making a bid for Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson while stocking up on defensive help at the Tuesday trade deadline.

As expected, some unexpected results have sprouted through the first half of the year, with teams that we thought may not be contenders suddenly bursting onto the scene, while those we imagined would be vying for high playoff seeding have fallen by the wayside.

That tells you the franchise still values Hendrickson, even if they’re afraid of a long-term deal. It would cost the Bengals about $36 million to tag Hendrickson in 2026.

Cincinnati became the first team in at least the last 45 years to take a lead in regulation after trailing by 14-plus points in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter -- and still lose! And they lost in spectacular fashion, surrendering a 58-yard game-winning touchdown from Caleb Williams to rookie Colston Loveland in the final seconds.

The Cincinnati Bengals are content to stay the same for the remainder of the season, which signals to fans it’s just fine to check out. Those Bengals started the march to the bye week with Zac Taylor defending his coaching staff and saying there won’t be any changes.
