The American Century Championship is one of the most entertaining golf events of the year, and day one did not disappoint, as Charles Barkley put on a show.

The former Auburn basketball star’s round at the American Century Championship featured an eagle from the second fairway.

Barkley's 9 points in the Stableford scoring system has him well off the 23 by first-round leader Joe Pavelski. But at T-24, Barkley is in great position for his best finish ever in the event—and to crush the over/under of 65.5th place set by Caesars before the tournament.

Former NHL player Joe Pavelski birdied the final three holes Saturday for a share of the second-round lead with former soccer player Taylor Twellman.

Barkley has finished dead last in this tournament 10 times. He's ion 24th place out of 90 after the first round this year.
